Often through advertising, we are conditioned to believe that the more expensive a product is, the better it must be. However, this is not necessarily the case.

Since a lot of big companies in the gutter business have terrible reputations, the next method customers will use to judge the quality is price. So they will all tell you that their product will fix all your problems forever, and you are likely to believe it because they seem to be honest. The truth is, products almost always under perform the salesman’s expectations. Since the salesman might not be very educated on their product, you should take it upon yourself to do your research, and ask them the right questions. If they don’t know the details of the product, you cannot trust their judgement.
A bad gutter system isn’t JUST a bad gutter system. It is a liability to the walls, foundation, and roof of your home. While choosing a cheaper product may save you money, the long term consequences of that decision could seriously affect your wallet and your home. For example, if you make a DIY gutter protection system from materials you bought at Lowe’s, it might work for a little, but will quickly start to deteriorate and eventually fail. Then, you will be forced to spend even more money to replace it, and to repair any damage to your home caused by water overflow.
This is why it is extremely important to just do it right ONCE. While is may cost more initially, it is far less likely to need replacement, and you can relax knowing that your home is safe from damage.
